Design Templates

 

We support the following file formats.

All templates are customized for Blanks/USA products. Instructions are available for each file type below.

 

Template Lines

Safe Print & Die Lines
Safe Print Lines
The area marked by the green line is called the safe print area. Please remember to keep all important information within this area.
Die Lines
The areas marked by a black or gray line are the die lines. We suggest aligning art and type at least ¼" away from perforations and die cuts. Many copiers and laser printers don’t pull paper completely straight.
 

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator templates are available as an .ai file and can be used on versions CS-CS5. Adobe Illustrator templates are designed for print professionals and graphic designers; these templates show product guides and die cut lines. These templates are setup using the Layers features.

Setting up your artwork.

  • Click on the layer “Artwork” and design on this layer.
  • The die lines, safe print area, and measurements are on locked “Die Lines” layer of the master page that are set to not print.

Adobe InDesign

Adobe InDesign templates are available as an .inx file and can be used on versions CS3-CS5. Adobe InDesign templates are designed for print professionals and graphic designers; these templates show product guides and die cut lines. These templates are setup using the Layers features.

Setting up your artwork.

  • Click on the layer “Artwork” and design on this layer.
  • The safe print area are on locked “Safe Print Area” layer of the master page that are set to not print.
  • The die lines and measurements are on locked “Die Lines” layer of the master page that are set to not print.

Adobe Acrobat

Adobe Acrobat Example

Adobe Acrobat templates are available as a .pdf file and are not a fillable form type template. The pdf template can be used with programs such as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and QuarkXPress. These templates can be placed on documents similar to images. These are designed to preview the product and dimensions.

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word templates are available as a .doc file and can be used on Windows 97 and newer. Microsoft Word templates are intended for Small Office/Home Office users to print on desktop printers, laser printers and other digital equipment. These templates show the print- and design-safe areas.

Microsoft Word Example

Setting up your artwork.

  • To add text select insert > text box, adjust the properties, font, spacing, etc.
  • To add images select insert > picture. Select either clip art or from file. Adjust the properties.
  • Once you have designed one of the products, copy all and paste within the margins of the next product.
  • Verify your page set-up and printer settings.
  • Save your file.
  • Print your file.

The die lines, safe print area and measurements are located on the Header/Footer section as a single image. To remove this image for printing, go to Header and Footer, click anywhere on the template and press ‘delete’.
